Discreet Orthodontics in Washington, DC
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment option that provides a subtle alternative to traditional metal braces. By repositioning the teeth using a series of clear, removable, and lightweight plastic aligners, your teeth will progressively and gently shift into place without the need for metal brackets and wires. You can eat what you like, brush and floss your teeth normally throughout your treatment, and be free of interruption from your daily life. Invisalign offers greater flexibility, and the best part is that most people won’t even know you are wearing them!
The Benefits of Invisalign
Invisalign is nearly invisible! The transparent appearance of the clear tray aligners allows you to achieve that perfect smile you have been dreaming of at any age, without the appearance of wearing “braces.”
Invisalign is removeable, so as long as you are following the recommended wear time, you can pop out the trays as needed. Because the aligners are removable, Invisalign is also much better for your oral hygiene. You can continue your normal oral care routine to keep your teeth and gums healthy and fresh throughout treatment.
Invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional metal braces. Without the brackets and abrasive wires, you may even forget that you are wearing it!
What To Expect
At your first appointment Dr. Robbins, a top Invisalign-trained dentist, will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to ensure that you are a candidate for treatment. We will take digital impressions using state of the art dental technology and scanners. Dr. Robbins will then create a treatment prescription for Align Technology, where 3-D imaging software will generate your alignment trays. Each set of trays is worn for approximately ten days, for 22 hours per day, and then replaced with the next set of trays in the cycle. Those with complex cases may require longer treatment times, however, most treatments are expected to be completed in about a year.
The Cost of Invisalign Treatment
The total cost of treatment is dependent upon several factors, including the complexity of your case and your specific insurance plan. At your initial consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign, and discuss financing and treatment options. Contact us at (202) 863-0688 to schedule your visit!
